What is physical therapy? Physiotherapy, as it is also referred to in many English speaking countries, is a health care profession which provides services to individuals in order to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout life. This includes providing services in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, disease or environmental factors.
At Performance Rehabilitation, the therapists will start by taking a look at your medical history, and then testing your strength, range of motion ability, posture, muscle performance, respiration, motion function, balance, and coordination.
After obtaining these results, a physical therapist will be able to create a personalized plan, or treatment strategy, and pair you up with a physical therapist assistant to monitor the implementation of the treatment strategy.
